After pressing under the textbooks for the past couple of days, I took out StarDust and found it to be as flat as Suika’s chest with no defect. Before even opening the manga (doujin manga), I noticed that paper quality was………pretty good. Good paper, definitely. It’s my first printed doujin work, so I really have nothing to base that judgment on except the licensed manga that I have. But to describe it as best as I can, the cover is about the same kind of cardboard cover that you would have on most manga except with better finish. Not to mention that StarDust was about the size of a magazine. The paper is also quite smooth. I’m not sure if it’s the same as the mythical “manga paper” that Wong talked about at one point, but I was quite impressed that it was such good quality paper which an equally good printing. Maybe that’s why the Advent Cirno scans are usually pretty good.

An Unexpected Package

So I was chatting in the channel a couple of weeks back when SSiB Tankobon was officially released, and I mentioned that I would have gotten any Advent Cirno doujin if White Canvas was a little more reliable (according to testimonies) about orders as Palet Web. Lo and behold, Nietz said he had a copy of StarDust and was willing to send it if I wanted it. I was shocked to say the least, but I did eventually receive the doujin in its unopened state. It was a little bent when it came in through the mail, so it’s being pressed under 5 or so textbooks to put it back into shape. All in all, thanks Nietz!

Another Dream 4 Entry
A few months ago, I was thinking of making an entry for Another Dream 4 and talked to Wong about it. Plans changed from making a Patchy-centered doujin to just random sketches. I’m still not sure what I want to do for AD4 (if I do it at all), but here are some ideas that I’m juggling around from least likely to most likely:
- Patchouli’s love woes – Most likely won’t happen since I don’t want a love sick puppy like Sou’s.
- A mahjong doujin – Why not? It’s a good and fun way to make a doujin =3
- An Advent Cirno RPG homage

Not entirely sure myself what to do if I go for the AC route, but it’ll be mainly a “just for fun” kind of thing rather than a serious RPG. That’ll be saved for the main project.
AD4 is still a ways off, but those are the ideas so far.
AD 3 and How to Use Tenhou
Another Dream Issue 3 has been released! Please check it out in Gensokyo.org’s gallery!
Yes, I do have a page in the issue as a guest art request from Wong. It could have been better even after 3 years of inactivity, but that just means I need to do better next time, right?. Well, here’s the uncleaned version for curiosity’s sake:
Depending on whether or not the script works out will determine if I try to make an entry for AD 4 which is slated for an August release. Maybe in time for C74!
I don’t know if there’s a tutorial anywhere that says how to use Tenhou, but you can click the link below to read how that’s done.
